1) He hates sin: Rom 7:13. "We will never understand the magnitude of sin by considering our own, because sin, by its very nature, is deceptive and refuses to call itself sin." [Arthur Katz, 1998, p.25]

Note that Israel has practiced syncretism already as far back as the time of slavery in Egypt. (Ezek 23:3); Ezek 23:48 is a warning even for the time of New Age scepticism of today.

Not all should be put to shame for the bad habits of others. All of Isreal should not be punished because of those who abuse their authority, as the Scribes and Pharisees have done so in the past. For even the Samaritans were also Jews but looked upon by the high priest as not worthy enough to be classified with them or to even bother to associate with. Christ did not condemn the daughter of Jacob, when He greeted her at the well. Love thy heavenly Father with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind (strength). For this is the first and greatest commandment. Love thy neighbor as thy self. This second commandment is equal to the first. For these two commandments depend on both the Law and the Prophets.
